Options for Sedation for Each Patient

  • Oral Sedation:
: Usually administered one hour before your visit, oral sedation entails swallowing a prescription sedative, usually Halcion, for mild to moderate dental anxiety. Throughout the treatment, you stay conscious, awake, and incredibly at ease and unfazed by the process. Periodontal, oral, or implant surgeries and fillings and crowns can all be performed under oral sedation.
  • Nitrogen Dioxide:
You feel at ease and even euphoric when you breathe in this colorless, odorless gas before and throughout your therapy. Nitrous gas has a calming impact on patients of all ages who are getting procedures ranging from routine dental cleanings to extractions and are suffering mild to moderate anxiety.
Local Anesthetic: When getting fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, periodontal or oral surgery, the teeth, gums, and bones are all numbed with local anesthetics. A few hours after treatment, the local anesthetic wears off and allows a pain-free visit when used alone or with oral sedation or nitrous oxide.

  • IV Sedation:
Suitable for patients with mild to severe dental anxiety, our Board Certified Anesthesiologist will offer IV conscious sedation before complicated procedures or multiple services such as extractions, dental implant surgeries, or full mouth reconstruction. Under IV sedation, you are usually unconscious during dental treatment but are nevertheless conscious and able to respond to instructions.
